This BMW runs strong and handles well, and equipment like windows, seats, etc. work well.  The tires have lots of life, the wheels are fine, and parts on the body are fine etc. except for normal paint wear.  This is being sold as parts car.  Here is the story:
Car has body perforations around sun roof and front window.  Water gets into car.  When it does the ignition switch to power junction circuit gets corrupted and the car does not start.  The defect can be bypassed and if we do that the car runs fine and all modules and functions seem to work well as far as we could determine.
We (RS Auto, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603, Paul Ditullo, 845-471-6545 Registered NYS Repair Shop) refused to gerry-rig a fix that is we advised the customer that the body would have to be fixed before we could properly fix the car.  The customer decided to simply turn over the car over to us in lieu of diagnosis fees and some other work owed.  Nothing amiss all happy.  The title is clear and in our possession.
This model in poor condition commands around $2,300 on private sale; for trade in about $1,000 to $1,911.  We understand with the body work required to fix the water ingress is probably parts car, although someone with DIY skill and tools could  make this fine road car for viable cost.  We haven't the time.
Highest bid over the reserve will get this otherwise road worthy BMW.
