UNMODIFIED. VISCERAL. GORGEOUS.There are few other e39 M5's for sale...But even fewer as magnificent as this one. PERFECT CARFAX REPORT. LONG-STORY TIME: purchased the car back in 2010 with the intent of using it every day--that never happened and the car sat while used other cars to commute. Eventually, it was forgotten in the driveway--sad, yes, know. Due to changes in my employment, now, have decided to part with it--but, it had rarely been driven in the last six years. Accordingly, have done the following work to the car in the last two months to get it sale-ready: COMPLETE body-repaint (it had sat near sprinkler and the hard-water spots were going to be impossible to polish out). Accordingly, the car has brand new paint job performed by renown facility here in Los Angeles--and it was done CORRECTLY...Moldings were removed, car was stripped, door-panels removed and properly masked where necessary. NOT an EARL-SCHEIB hack-job. Of course--because life works this way--the clutch (suddenly) begins slipping after getting it back from the body shop...Subsequently, stepped-up and installed BRAND NEW CLUTCH (OE BMW parts used); during the clutch install, the guibo/flex-disc was discovered-cracked...Soooo...Changed that too. The original (chrome) wheels on the same side of the car that were facing the sprinklers were (also) ruined by hard water so sourced brand new set of BBS LM repros sized at 19x10.5" in the rear and 19x9.5" in the front. wrapped these rims in BRAND NEW CONTINENTAL EXTREME CONTACT TIRES sized at 285/30/19 in the rear and 245/35/19 in the front. NO SPACERS....HUB CENTRIC...AND NO, they do not rub. I've done so much to the car in the last 60 days and will attempt to list it all: brand new thermostat, brand new battery (naturally); had to replace the amp because it was angry about being dormant for so long, replaced the front navigation screen (ditto on its attitude about sitting), performed COMPLETE Inspection on the engine, changed the oil, performed brake-flush, coolant flush, new spark plugs, passenger side front window regulator, replaced the two front fender liners (one was cracked and it could have looked odd to have only replaced one and not the other), brand new front & rear ROUNDELS, brand new floor mats, brand new windshield wipers, power steering (low and high-pressure if memory serves)....And so many other things that cannot recall as type this...Suffice it to say, invested in it because it deserved it and it is worth more, now, than the sad-looking, driveway-derelict it had become. The only aftermarket modification (aside from the wheels) were complete interior trim-wrap in carbon-fiber...If you don't like it, no problem, the original wood trim is underneath. Just passed California Smog--runs exactly like it sounds it would run after all of the work put into it. Driving this car, now, reminds me of why bought it in the first place...A naturally aspirated BMW V8....Amazing performance. IS MY M5 PERFECT? No. My feedback is! It is 13 year old car--I'm certain if you look hard-enough, you will find some kind of anomaly or something that doesn't qualify it as showroom-new car--please understand that. Under-hood, you will find BMW's MIGHTY S62 4.9 LITER V8 ENGINE which is capable of 400HP and 369 foot-lbs of torque!!!! NEVER SMOKED IN. NO STORIES. NO OIL LEAKS, NO ANOMALIES, EVERYTHING WORKS. YES, I'm asking lot. If you do not agree with my price, please be respectful--the market will decide its price. Seen the going cost of e30 M3's, lately? The e39 M5 was only produced (like the e30 M3) for short numbers of years and in limited quantities...Make no mistake about it, its value is going north. do have to sell it because of employment circumstances, but am not in rush to get rid of it. Please note that my M5 is listed elsewhere and as such, the sale could end at any time. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL TO SUBMIT YOUR OFFER AS IT MAY NOT LAST UNTIL THE END OF THE AUCTION. Accordingly, if you have any questions, at all, feel free to contact me directly at 818.857.1300 UPDATE: Since the pictures were taken, below, the headlights have been completely refurbished/polished. BEFORE! AFTER!
