Please read the last paragraph/list BEFORE bidding.
I purchased the M5 as statutory write-off in 2012 and was planning to transfer the running gear into the 2007 525i (same body, and no mod plate required) to make cheap M5 clone, but never had the time to do so. am now selling both cars to make space and keep the wife happy.
This M5 had only done 54,785kms at the time of the accident but has never been started since due to electrical damage in boot, so am unsure of drivetrain condition: all fuses have been removed as precaution (bar ones required for unlocking steering).
Apart from obvious crash damage it also has the following known issues:
??? small patch on engine sump (about 1cm2), sump itself is structurally sound (see photo),??? both rear mounting lugs on gearbox broken gearbox itself is sound (see photo and diagram),??? gearbox cross-member broken (see photo),??? minor scrapes on lower suspension points/front cross-member,??? scrapes on rear sub-frame connectors (both removed as mounting bolts stripped one end),??? gutter-rash on front RH rim,??? crude repair to engine wiring harness (done before bought it),??? entertainment/navigation unit (in dash and boot) has been removed (before bought it),??? scrapes and cracks on front bumper,??? RH guard dented,??? RH front chassis rail cut (unsure why, maybe done to stop chassis being reused after statutory W/O),??? brake discs have surface rust from sitting so long, will just need skimming,??? front/rear windscreens are cracked
The gearbox mounting lugs could be repaired with TIG welder, and the gearbox cross-member retails for $57USD (see photos/diagram).
Interior is in excellent condition with black leather, anthracite headliner and gloss black trim.
